IIIT, Hyderabad offers an M.Tech. and Ph. D.  programs of Computer applications in the domain of structural engineering. In addition these, it offers part-time PG/PhD and Post Graduate Student Status program also.

 

About the programs:

 

Ph.D.: The Ph.D. is a research oriented doctoral program. Students of this program are required to take few compulsory courses in the domain of structural engineering and few computer science courses. After completing the course requirement, student will work on his research topic. Expected time for completing PhD is 3 to 4 years.

 

Eligibility: A BE/B.Tech or ME/M.Tech degree in Civil Engineering.

 

 

M.Tech.: This is a 2-year program which offers core courses in structural engineering with emphasis on industrial applications. The courses engage in a comprehensive study of computer applications for advanced structural analysis and design. Students can choose earthquake engineering as a stream and a few courses will be offered this stream. Relevant computer science courses will be offered. Students also need to do their project work by taking up some industry-oriented problems in their final semester.

 

Eligibility: BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering.

 

Part-time PG/PhD programme: This if open for professionals in Hyderabad and nearby areas.

 

Post Graduate Student Status Program: This is for the professionals who want to improve their knowledge on specified topics of structural engineering like structural dynamics, computer aided building design, earthquake resistant design, etc. For further details on the subjects offered this semester, please contact: case@iiit.ac.in
